Hamilton Hills Baptist Church Weekly Announcements This Weeks Schedule: September 3rd - Wednesday AWANA Opening night & Congregational Meeting AWANA & LBS & Adult Bible Study September 7th/Sunday Sunday School 9:00 a.m. Worship Service 10:15 a.m. Handbell Practice - 4:30 p.m. FAITH - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER TONIGHT We have moved the location where our dinner will be tonight from the East Wing to Tyler Hall. AWANA OPENING NIGHT/ PARENT ORIENTATION TONIGHT! Parents and AWANA clubbers please join us for an informational AWANA meeting. We will be discussing the new security procedures, AWANA calendar, handbook guidelines, and volunteer information and other related topics. *Meeting will be held in the auditorium from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. **Congregational Meeting will immediately follow the AWANA Orientation meeting. Voting on the parking lot.* Regular AWANA for our Clubbers will then start after the meeting is finished and will go till 8:00 p.m. If you should have any questions feel free to contact Pattie Wolfe at pwolfe@hamiltonhills.org. AWANA LEADERS NEEDED We are need of only 3 nursery workers for AWANA. If you would like to volunteer please contact Pattie Wolfe at pwolfe@hamiltonhills.org. K - 4TH GRADE CHILDREN'S CHURCH LEADERS NEEDED 14 adults of all ages are needed to be small group leaders in Children's Church serving one month at a time through the 2008-2009 school year. If you are interested in building into the lives of a small group of children, please contact Pattie Wolfe at pwolfe@hamiltonhills.org. The blessings of serving in this capacity are many! HANDBELL INFORMATIVE MEETING There is an informative meeting and handbell practice scheduled for Sunday, September 7th at 4:30 p.m. It is very important to be there and please bring your calendars with you. DAY OF PRAYER Please join our church family on September 9th in praying for our Sunday School Classes. DROP IN RECEPTION FOR RUTH & SANTIAGO ARTEAGA ON SEPT. 7TH Joe & Julie Wendel wants to invite everyone to a drop in reception at their house for Ruth & Santiago. They are our missionaries from Ecuador. You can stop by on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to fellowship. NEW MEMBERS/DISCOVERY CLASS PITCH IN LUNCH Please join us for lunch on Sunday, September 7th at Sam & Colleen Froese's house for food and fellowship with each other and with our Pastors. The luncheon is planned for 12:30 p.m. and the Froese's address is 8385 Barstow Drive in Fishers. Please RSVP to Colleen at 596-1006 as soon as possible. HAMILTON HILLS OUTREACH GOLF OUTING On Saturday, September 13th, HHBC will be having its annual golf outing. We encourage you to use this outing as an outreach to your unchurched family and friends. PATIENTLY WAITING Kim Mayse will be facilitating a Christian support group for women facing infertility challenges. They will meet every third Wednesday of each month starting September 17th. Kim has asked Dr. Donald Cline, a very well known and well respected reproductive endocrinologist to speak on the October 15th meeting. There are pamphlets available in the foyer for more information. MUM PICK UP INFORMATION A huge thank you for everyone who ordered mums in support of Noblesville Christian School Tuition Assistance Program. Mums are available for pick up on Saturday, September 6th from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Hamilton County 4H Fairgrounds in Noblesville. Any questions feel free to contact Shelly Perkins at 770-7140. BABY SHOWER FOR DENISE SCHMIDT There is a baby shower planned for Denise on Sunday, September 14th at 2:30 p.m. at Kaye Hasewinkel's house. Kaye's address is 6819 Barrington Place in Fishers. Gift ideas for Baby Gracelyn, who was recently adopted from China, include Pediasure formula (vanilla with fiber), Fall clothes 6-9 months and of course diapers are always helpful. LADIES FALL BIBLE STUDIES HAVE STARTED - IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN IN We have two bible studies that just started this week: *Mindy Baker is facilitating with Dale Gilmore assisting her in a Beth Moore Study. It is on the Study of Daniel. This is held on Tuesday mornings from 9:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. *The second bible study is with Mary Lowe as the facilitator for Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The study is on the Book of Esther. There is a sign up table in the foyer for those who are interested in these studies. For the study of Daniel only: Cost of the books are $15.00. Make checks payable to HHBC. No Books are needed for Mary's Lowe's study on the Book of Esther. NEW ADULT BIBLE STUDY STARTS TONITE! Pastor Randy Gilmore will be starting a new study on The Book of Job on Wednesday nights for the adults from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. MOVIE NIGHT You are invited to attend opening weekend of the movie "FIREPROOF" as a church family on September 27th. It will be at the Regal Theatre on 96th street at 4:10 p.m. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer with more detailed information. If you are interested in being in our directory, we will be taking pictures of our church families after church on the following dates: September 14th, 21st, October 5th and 12th. If you have a current picture of your family you would like to submit for our directory, you can e-mail it to lspencer@hamiltonhills.org. ORPHAN OUTREACH - BACKPACK COLLECTION Please help us as we partner with Orphan Outreach to collect backpacks that will be delivered with a message of God's love to children in need around the world. Backpacks are distributed with school supplies and the hope of Jesus Christ during Orphan Outreach short term missions trips. New or gently used backpacks of all sizes and styles are needed. A collection box will be available in the lobby through the month of September. Please contact Joy Beghtel at 598-9168 if you should have any questions. INFORMATION FOR HOME SCHOOLING PARENTS If you would like to participate in activities with other HHBC families who are home schooling there is a sign up sheet available in the foyer.
