What is Community?
Community is being genuinely known within a local church. Not just showing up on Sunday, but belonging to a group of people who know your name, know your struggles, and are walking through life with you week after week.
How to practice it
If you’re not in a small group, start there. Show up every week. Be honest when someone asks how you’re doing. Let people in. Serve alongside others. Over time, you’ll find that the people around you stop being optional and start being essential.
Why it matters
We are not designed to follow Jesus alone. Spiritual growth happens faster and deeper in relationship. Community is where you’re loved, challenged, and held accountable in ways that no amount of personal devotion can replace. Every follower of Jesus in the New Testament belonged to a community. It was assumed. We’ve made it optional. That’s worth correcting.
